What are retinoids?
Retinoids, a form of vitamin A, are scientifically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles when used regularly. The use of retinoids in skincare has a longer history than you might think. While they became popular for soothing the skin in the 1970s, researchers noticed that retinoids did more than just fighting various skin concerns. Products containing retinoids also work effectively to fade dark spots and help promote skin’s natural turnover faster. This led to exploring and incorporating retinol and retinal—both of which belong to the retinoid family—for refining skin texture in cosmetic and over-the-counter products.
What’s the difference between retinol and retinal?
